Ecosystem for Social Innovation in Sweden (2022)

Ecosystem for Social Innovation in Sweden (2022)

This report is part of the work carried out under the European project Building Capacity for a Sustainable Society (BuiCaSuS) and provides an overview of the social innovation ecosystem in Sweden. The report summarizes findings from previous surveys and reports, and describes the conditions, functions, and actors, as well as the opportunities and challenges within the ecosystem for social innovation and social entrepreneurship in Sweden.

As this report shows, there is still a need for dedicated ecosystems for social innovation and social entrepreneurship. In the long term, however, an increasing number of stakeholders will need to adopt socially innovative approaches in order to address complex societal challenges, modernize the Swedish welfare system, and achieve the global Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda in a way that brings about systemic change and transformation.

To strengthen the ecosystem for social innovation in Sweden and to integrate socially innovative approaches among stakeholders across all sectors of society, the authors of the report put forward a number of recommendations.
