Boosting Initiatives and Resources to Develop Social Innovation
Boosting Initiatives & Resources to Develop Social Innovation (BIRDS) is a transnational collaborative project between the national centers of excellence for social innovation in France (Avise), Portugal (Portugal Social Innovation), Spain (Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and Agenda 2030), and Sweden (Forum for Social Innovation Sweden). The project aims to strengthen and professionalize these competence centers and build their capacity to work with actors in the field of social innovation.

BIRDS
BIRDS is a transnational collaborative project between the national centers of social innovation in France, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden.
The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Social Innovation+ Initiative, as one of five transnational consortia for the period 2024–2027. Avise is the coordinating partner.
The project covers four main areas:
- Regional support structures for social innovation (led by Sweden and Forum for Social Innovation Sweden)
- Evaluation, Theory of Change Scaling Up Social Innovation (led by France and Avise)
- Funding for Social Innovation (led by Portugal and Portugal Social Innovation)
- Long-term establishment of national centers of excellence (led by Spain and the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs, and the 2030 Agenda)
