Podcast: Uncharted Territory – A Conversation About Social Innovation

“Uncharted Territory” is the name Forum for Social Innovation Sweden's podcast on social innovation. The podcast will explore the complex social challenges of our time from every angle. A new episode will be released every other week, starting January 25. 

Forum for Social Innovation SwedenForum for Social Innovation Sweden is a national knowledge and collaboration platform for social innovation based at six universities in Sweden, with its headquarters at Malmö University. Forum for Social Innovation Sweden now Forum for Social Innovation Sweden a new format to share knowledge about what social innovation is and can be. The podcast “Obruten mark” will focus on and highlight new and established solutions to societal problems, as well as potential paths forward. The podcast will feature a variety of stakeholders, issues, and perspectives at both the grassroots and systemic levels.  

“In our work, we constantly encounter inspiring social entrepreneurs, researchers, projects, organizations, and initiatives that have created new solutions contributing to a socially sustainable society. We want to share these examples and solutions that have the potential to advance social welfare in Sweden,” says Sara Bjärstorp, Executive Director of Forum for Social Innovation Sweden at Malmö University. 

Tom Roodro, project manager at Forum for Social Innovation Sweden, will lead the discussion. 

“The podcast format allows for in-depth analysis, nuance, and reflection—something we believe there is a need and demand for. With a podcast, you get close to the listener and have time to foster understanding and perspective on complex social phenomena,” he says. 

Since 2010, Forum for Social Innovation Sweden has been working Forum for Social Innovation Sweden a variety of stakeholders to explain what social innovation is, why it is needed, and to put social innovation on the agenda in Sweden. Several publications have been produced, including “100 Social Innovations,” which highlights 100 examples of innovations and social entrepreneurs across Sweden. Over the years, Forum for Social Innovation Sweden also organized the “Social Innovation Summit” conference and a range of other events and networking opportunities, while also promoting social innovation through the film series “Research in Collaboration” and other channels. Now it’s time for a podcast. 

“Unbroken Ground” will feature examples from all over Sweden. Each episode will be 30–40 minutes long.
