Welcome to the book launch of “Civil Society Studies – A Primer”

NÄTVERKET – Skåne’s Nonprofit Sector and Forum for Social Innovation Sweden you to the launch of the research anthology “Civil Society Studies – A Primer”.
About the book
The book provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge regarding Swedish civil society. It was produced by the Center for Civil Society Research at Marie Cederschiöld University in collaboration with the publishing house Liber and comprises 20 chapters written by researchers from universities across the country. The book is highly relevant at a time when civil society actors are described as increasingly important partners in issues concerning social development, resilience, and democracy. At the same time, civil society is often perceived as vague and unclear, with waning engagement and funding. There are thus many opinions, but these are more often than not based on personal views and beliefs, rather than on actual knowledge and research. That is why this book is needed, along with the conversations it will hopefully spark.
Presentation at the book launch
At the book launch, the book will be presented by Malin Lindberg, visiting professor at Forum for Social Innovation Sweden Malmö University and one of the book’s co-editors, and Roberto Scaramuzzino of the School of Social Work at Lund University, who is one of the book’s chapter authors.
Who is welcome?
We welcome NÄTVERKET’s member organizations, other non-profit and public sector organizations, researchers, and other interested parties to the book launch. As a participant, you will gain both an overview of the book’s content and significance, and the opportunity to discuss how civil society’s role in social development can be strengthened.
